I was contemplating how to start out this entry and in light of recent developments in the comments, this only seemed fitting. The title of this blog is rather misleading in the sense that it's only my friends that are dyslexic (even though they're really not) but I'm here today to fess up. I'm the queen of dyslexia but the fact that I'm the holder of said list means that my entries conveniently get left off of it. My friends are very aware of this convenience and have started making their own lists. One of which I found sunday morning, stogged in my purse. Thanks Liss!
It all started out rather innocently. Saturday night was sorta my welcoming home party since I missed Festivus festivities and got home through the week, it was our first opportunity. Liss and I had discussed that night and thought it would only be us but we were ok with that. Of course, things naturally snowball with us and what started out with Liss and I, turned in to us being joined by Scott, Mary, Chris, Tracy and her significant other that we finally got to meet... Andy. The more the merrier. Good thing there was lots of company as I turned out to be a lost cause and was in bed by... hmmm, I don't think I made it 'til 12. Just so everyone knows, I had a great time up 'til then and thanks for the entertainment.
Try as we might, we could not get Darcy to play the guitar for us, (too sober? too on call? both?) even though he took the odd stab at the electric. There's not much singing along you can do to the electric guitar though, particularly since Christmas as it's now hooked up to a Marshall amp that rules out any chance of thinking, let alone being heard. Acoustic guitar or no, we carried on anyways, singing familiars and we somehow got on to that song, "Delta Dawn." You can only imagine what came next. We may have gotten one verse out of the normal version but the bad version quickly took over. I made the mistake of being overheard singing, "Porcelain Penix," - Me, and it was all downhill from there. Will we ever learn to keep our mouths shut when preying vultures are perched waiting for fresh kill? We are slow learners, that's for sure. We still haven't learned not to believe drunken promises of breakfast or from friday night camp syndrome, just to name a few.
At some point during the night, we started noticing these strange flashes. Darcy, just having returned from an emergency trip to Carter's, came in explaining the crazy thunder and lightning storm going on. All of us had heard of this phenomenon but none had witnessed it. It's very rare to have a winter thunder and lightning storm. The flashes of bluish purple reminded me of seeing a squirrel being fried on a transformer oh so many years ago or the guy that tried to cut the live electrical wire at the substation, but that's another time, another post.
Next thing you know, it's jackets and boots flying everywhere as we're all now going outside in the rain to see it, putting the Skidd deck to it's maximum occupancy limit test... which it passed with flying colours. I, of course, grabbed my camera to get some video. With video now rolling, we're all standing around waiting for the next flash. Listen closely as I find this rather amusing too. The video's only 1:43min. long but it seemed so much longer than that. Right after you hear me asking to see another flash, Liss proclaims, "It's probably over!" Ask and you shall receive! We got three cool shots of lightning (second one's the coolest) as well as some great thunder, immediately after that, which literally shook the deck. It really is a neat phenomenon and I'm glad I got to witness it as it's a very rare occurence. To check out the video, click here...
Last night I also got to see another rare occurence. Not necessarily a world-wide phenomenon but one that occurs regularly in our own little world. Anybody who knows the Skidd's dogs, also know how much Kate and Jake detest each other, well mostly it's just Kate detesting Jake, well, everyone for that matter. But you know that it's crammed for space in the livingroom when you see this occur...
This next few pictures are carrying on with the couch potato theme. Geez I love the focus of my new camera. Here's Jake taking a nap...
This next one's of Meg and Kate. I love the expression on Kate's face in this one...
I did manage to fire off a few pictures before going to bed saturday night. There's people missing from them so for those, we may have to get some pictures from Mary.
This first picture's of Liss. Not quite sure why she felt the need to strike such a pretty pose but I like this picture and after the pics on Matt's blog, I felt sorry for her, hahahaha...
This next one's of Scott. You all might want to save this to your hardrive as I think this is one of the few normal pictures we have of him without a beer or some other crazy thing to screw up his picture...
And of course, another close up of the most photographed dog in the world. This was funny 'cause he kept trying to sniff and lick the camera. He's such a sniffer so it's only appropriate that we get an extreme up-close of his nose. I apparently thought it very funny, judging by my expression in the background...
Ok, these are totally out of order and backwards yet but these pictures were taken saturday day which later turned into the crazy thunder and lightning storm. I thought this all so weird and cool as well that I decided to snap a few pictures of it. It was so foggy later that night that when I was trying to drive to Douglastown for my mix, you couldn't even see the lights until you were almost across the bridge. You'll hear Scott saying in the above video that it was like driving off the edge of the earth. It was...
I love the way this picture turned out...
Needless to say, it's been pretty eventful since I got home. We woke up this morning to a heavy snowfall warning and the radio has been announcing cancellations all day. Mitch'll be happy as he got to extend his Christmas vacation by a day, even though it wasn't even snowing when they cancelled it. Probably a good idea though as the roads would have been messy for them coming home as we've now got about 3" accumulated. So far no rain as it was predicting but hopefully we're on the cusp enough that it'll just stay snow.
This could make things interesting for travelling up to the camp this weekend though. I can say I'm not feeling quite so invincible about travelling through the Plaster Rock highway after the last trip but surely I've significantly decreased the chances of hitting another moose. Here's hoping the camp roads will be ok as I'm not going to be making it out there 'til saturday and of course everyone will be arriving friday so please have the search party ready. It will be fun but sad as this is going to be Scott's going away bash. We're going to miss you Scott but you'll have a great time.
This'll be my last post 'til I have more blackmail pictures of the camp this weekend. Those always produce blog worthy entries. Liss came up with a good game idea for the comments so feel free to jump in one and all!
'Til next time...

Now, this one should prove a little more challenging as it's going to take thought putting out your post, as much as it'll take to answer it. After the alphabet games, I figure we can handle it. Good thinking Liss.
Basically the object of the game is going to be, "TV Shows." What we have to do is put out three hints as to what show we're thinking of. The next person guesses it and throws out their own.
It'll be easier to show you as opposed to explaining it. Ok, the show I'm thinking of has these three things involved...
1) Leading man's name is Michael
2) He drives a talking car
3) He's a crusader of sorts
What TV show is this?
Hey Kim! Great post..and your video turned out great. I agree, the 2nd lightening flash is the best! Glad to see you "threw yourself into the mix"..ha ha! I'm so glad I wrote that down for you...what are friends for?
So, the new game...the answer is Knight Rider!
Here's the clues for the next TV show..
1)It's a drama
2)The main character is played by a Canadian actor who has starred in lots of movies (ex: The Lost Boys, Stand By Me)
3)The Countdown is on!
Ok, I'm pretty sure Kiefer's Canadian and know he was in Stand By Me even though I don't remember him in the other one but it's been a long time since I seen it.
I do know that it's a countdown for me as we just figured out it was a week from yesterday that it's finally starting up again. I'm going to take a stab and say it's...
-24??
Wheee, I'll actually get to see it now as opposed to repeats. I can't wait!!!
Correct Kimberley! Your turn! :)
Ok Liss, I think we're chasing each other through the comments. :D
1) sitcom
2) 2 girls and a guy
3) old
Yep..the bank closed early today, so here I am! :)
I'm gonna guess "Three's Company"??
Good job Liss, that's it and pretty good too considering how vague the hints were.
My staff meeting got cancelled too so I'll probably be up later. Gotta get my Rio MP3 player switched around. It's still got Cindi's crap music on it!
Throw out some new hints baby
Well alrighty then!
#1 - drama
#2 - usually on Tuesday nights
#3 - the main character loves to pop lots of pills
BTW..see ya later..but be careful driving, it's freezing rain now!
Hey Coll...how are ya?
You were right..I love that show too! Hugh Laurie is awesome! :)
I'm guessing that you're talking about "Friends"..???
Oh oh...cranky baby time! :)
I'll move it along then, here's some clues:
1) This show was on in the 80's
2) It's about a guy who can get himself out of just about any situation...very corny! :)
3) Selma and Patti love him!
OMG, how dare you make fun of my favourite show!! J/K. :D That would be, "MacGyver."
Ok, my turn, eh? It is just as hard thinking of these as it is the answers.
1) British comedy
2) It has two leading ladies in it, both of which are addicted to any substance
3) One of them has a daughter named Saffy.
Hey Coll, glad to have you on for the few minutes ya got. Hope Daniel Squareds are well.
The lightning video is hilarious! The oohing and aahing...priceless.
Cool pics too, Kim. I can always count on you for new and unique desktop wallpaper. You should be in the postcard business.
As for the show...British comedy...two leading ladies, both of which are addicted to any substance...one of them has a daughter named Saffy...hmmm...no idea!
Sorry Kim..no idea here either! :)
Glad ya liked it Brian. Which one's now adorning your desktop? That's such a compliment... wow! I contemplated editing the video but it's us standing around gabbing that makes it! Then the, "It's probably over," never ceases to crack me up. :D
Ok, so it seems that more hints are needed, eh?
I should have been more specific, both leading ladies are in to any and all substances at any time of the day. It's my favourite British comedy and I got in to it while I was on the ship. One of them is an Ivana trump wannabe (Patsy) and the other one likes to wear very gaudy clothes but they have to have name brands visibly seen (Eddie).
If that doesn't help, feel free to Google it.
I had to google, and the only thing I came up with was "Absolutely Fabulous". It must be right.. (never heard of that one!). :)
Movin' on...
1)an old sitcom
2)an alien
3)a strange greeting
"Mork and Mindy." (Nanu, nanu!)
Kim, my new wallpaper is the last shot you posted (tugboat w/ bridge in fog). Nice shot.
Ah. "Absolutely Fabulous." I've never watched it...
Next, then!
1) 80's action series
2) 4 principle cast members
3) "escaped from a maximum security stockade for a crime they didn't commit"
...?
Is it "The A Team"??
Yes. Yes, it is.
"If you have a problem...if no one else can help...and if you can find them...maybe you can hire...The A-Team."
Is anyone else seeing the same verification word ('smenita') over and over again? Strange.
Yep..it's there again...this site is acting totally wierd today!
Here's another one;
1)Drama
2)Plane Crash
3)Island
"Lost"?
Yep...you're go!
I am go? Alrighty, then! :)
1) Al's Diner
2) Joanie and Chachi
3) Sit on it, Bucko
...?
Oooh, that would be, "Happy Days."
1) Comedy
2) Hilarious Cast
3) Undoing wrong doings
Sorry so vague but it's hard to give hints without giving it away.
Oh yeah Liss, you were right on Absolutely Fabulous.
OK..you must be talking about "My Name Is Earl" and the whole "Karma" issue..lol! Great show!
Here's another one..
1)country "bumpkins"
2)older show
3)lots of cool car chases accompanied by some "not so cool" tunes..ha ha!
I'm thinkin' it's gotta be "The Dukes Of Hazzard." I'll wait before I go ahead with the next one though, because I'm not 100% on that...
Yep! Your turn..
1) Exclamation point in title
2) A bumbling detective
3) 3 movies were made based on it(the first one and two sequels)
...?
The only thing I can think of is Inspector Gadget...but I don't think there was an exclamation point, so I'm probably wrong! I'll probably need another hint...brain freeze! :)
Nope, not Gadget. Hint: In one of the films, Reggie Jackson felt strongly that he "must...kill...the Queen." :)
OK..now I've got it! It's Police Squad! The movies are Naked Gun..with Leslie Nielson. I find it harder to think when I'm at work!:)
I'll throw out another one ...
1)Cartoon
2)talking dog
3)has a bar called the "drunken clam"
Hey Coll..how are ya? You were right..it was Family Guy!
I've been thinking about your clues, and the only thing I can come up with is "Too Close For Comfort". I'm probably wrong though because I think the dude's name was Munro on that show. Anyway, that's my final answer! Hee hee..if I'm wrong, put in another hint please! :)
I have no clue...
Kate & Allie??
I'm with Melissa on this one, could it be Colleen got the girls' friend's name wrong...?
Well I gotta get goin.'
To see Ramone?
Coll...where are you? LOL
Here's a plan and sorry Coll but I know you don't get much of a chance to surf. You guys carry on with the game and we'll get back to it later when she gets a chance, k?
Ok, then! Melissa guessed "Too Close For Comfort," and that's what I think it is, too. So I say Liss, go right to 'er. :)
OK guys..
Here's the clues:
1) 6 kids
2) housekeeper
3) Funky clothes
An easy one...!
Easy for some, maybe! Umm..."The Facts Of Life"?

Next --
1) Doctor in a small town
2) Cast of oddball characters
3) A moose
...?
Northern Exposure?
Aahh..don't be too hard on yourself Coll!! We all make mistakes on here (believe me)!
My guess is still Northern Exposure... :)
Heehee Coll, that is too funny though! Considering what this blog is dedicated to, it only seems fitting. :D
You may have missed it since you're not on that much but I had a typical screw up in the comments not that long ago. So much so that that's why I had to fess up to my own dyslexic ways a few posts back.
No harm, no foul. Always good for a chuckle though. You do realise that it has to go on the list though, eh?
Muwhahahahaha! Love ya Coll!
I call it game on Liss, we all agree. Take 'er away...
"Northern Exposure" was right. Liss, you are go. :)
Poor Liss is never going to hear the end of that, eh? Heehee
OK..I am go! :)
Here's some clues:
-during the "theme song" an artist is doing a portrait of the family
-always a "lesson learned"..ha ha
-was on in the 80's
"Family Ties."
Next!
1) Game show

:)
Hoo hah! :) It's "The Price Is Right"!!
OK...I thought of a funny one..
-gameshow
-kids baking
-lots of ketchup! hee hee! :)
Frig, I remember that show too but I can't think of the name of it. I remember feeling so sorry for the parents 'cause they had to eat it.
You're right, ketchup and chocolate chips were the main ingredients. :D
It was called "Just Like Mom." Peanut butter and uncracked eggs were a popular addition to the bowl, too. Yikes.
Next -
1) '80's action series
2) Red Ferrari
3) Star had a mustache and wore a lot of Hawaiian shirts

That moustached man would have to be Tom Selleck in "Magnum PI".
On to the next one..
-another 80's show, on Saturday mornings
-people often got "slimed"
-"I heard that..."..and yes, you all have watched it, whether you want to admit it or not! LOL
Funny story here. I was telling Liss about how I couldn't think of the name of that show and I could only think of a different show's name. It turns out, it was the next show and the answer was...
"You Can't Do That On Television"
1) Neighbours
2) Rock quarry
3) Interesting household appliances
OK..is that the Flintstones? I'll wait before I put another one on..

-it was a kids show on Sat or Sun mornings
-hosted by Stan Johnson
-showed lots of clips from Batman
"Switchback"?
YES! Good job Brian! Your turn..
Ok then! This one's a no-brainer...
1) Tiny furniture
2) Giraffe in a window
3) Rooster in a sack
...?
"Look up..look way up..and I'll call Rusty!" lol It's none other than "The Friendly Giant" (I used to love the cow jumping over the moon..:)
Gosh, talk about re-living my childhood with this game! :)
Next,
-cheesy gameshow
-with your host, "Tito Monte"..(not sure if I spelled his name right)

It might be "Perfect Strangers."
Just kidding, it's gotta be W&G.

Liss, I'm almost 100% certain it's Will & Grace. Just go, what the hell. :)
OK..if you say so! :)
-Howie Mandell
-suitcases
-26
I know..it's easy but I'm wiped out! :)
Yup, feel free to overthrow. It was right anyways. That was the deal. Some of us don't have the option of playing while at work, unfortunately. Probably a good thing or I'd get nothing done.
As for Liss', I have no idea. Too tired to think.
"Deal Or No Deal." I can't decide if it's entertaining or annoying...
Next...
1) The Tanner family
2) Mrs. Ochmonek
3) The planet Melmack

Ah..that would have been a great hint! :)
Here's another one:
-spin off from Happy Days

Is it "Grey's Anatomy"?
Ah. The title makes sense now, I guess.

Goes to show how much I watched it..ha ha!
Alright,

Frig, I was talking to a client the other day that was actually on that show. Was it, "Romper Room?" I think so. "Romper, stomper, bomper boo...!" Holy frig, now that's a flashback...

The only show I can think of that would possibly fit in that category would be, "The View?" And that's only because of the media, I've never watched an episode. Isn't Rosie on that now?

The first word in it is, "Hilarious _ _ _."
If that doesn't help, feel free to Google...
