The Trees Were Like Diamonds

I love this picture. It's of Scott coming down the road from next door. Some of the nicest picture opportunities were right in front of the camp. It looks like it should be in some tourist magazine.

What a great weekend at the camp. Managed to get some much needed alone time (the joys of snow and conflicting schedules) but also managed to have a ton of fun. Pillowcases rock!!

This next picture's still on the road in front of the camps.

I got in about midnight on friday. Good thing, it was way too cold for a search party. I drove by the road and as I was driving by it I was thinking that sure did look like it. It wasn't 'til the bridge that I knew it was so. My fingers were instantly numb once I stepped out. Future note to self, get dressed before you drive out and you won't have to dig your ski pants and boots out of the trunk, already ice cold and then have to put them on in -40 weather (with wind chill). The joys of Atlantic Canada in the winter. Only made worse when you're a woman with the aforementioned clothes on having to take a pee in the snowbank.

The next day, Liss wasn't feeling too well so Darcy, Mitch, Scott and I went in search of wood. Darcy's new wood sleigh makes for great mushing fun until it jack-knives. Ya wanna be quick to land on your feet, I'll tell ya. It was beautiful out (even though cold) and as the title says, the trees shone like diamonds. The freezing rain our area got, obviously it didn't warm up enough to melt off back there. The ice was over an inch thick on the trees in most places. The new radios gave great reception and we were out almost to the lake the last time we harassed Liss with the, "Can you hear me now," nonsense.

Kevin and Jamie were in the hood. Friday Kevin came over and it seems I was his interpreter for the evening. Maybe it was my state but he was making perfect sense but apparently only to me. With such comments as,
"I'm so wild, I'll take off and I'll be gone,"-Kevin only I could figure it out. Not exactly sure what the heck he was trying to say now, but hey...! Jamie finally made an appearance saturday evening but after cracking my first drink somewhere between 1 and 2pm., it's a little blurry. We did manage to make breakfast at 10pm. that evening though which pretty much put everyone to bed. That was ok, after the night before, or shall we just simply say, "Way too friggin' late?"

Many stupid things were said through the night, we were in grand form. Either we were in no shape to be talking and making sense or just the usual camp giddiness, who knows. Whatever the case may be, I managed to make a few notes throughout the weekend. Just wrote them over to the cigarette pack, actually.

Must remember to get Scott to bring his constellation book the next time we go back 'cause there seems to be a discrepancy about the constellation,
"The Little Dipple."-Darcy. That of course, being one of the problems, trying to break it to Darcy that that's not what it's called, heehee. I also wish I was a betting woman 'cause until someone can show me which one the Little Dipple (it just gets funnier every time I say it) is, I know it's the one I pointed out and that's why nobody can show me which one it really is.

Alright, everybody keep their eyes peeled on their inboxes as the pictures should be there. I'm off to Google the Little Dipple...

Hey Kim,

It sounds like you guys had a great time as usual. I see Liss & Darcy have yet to update the Camp blog. Have to wait for that one. If your firing off the pics, send them my way.

That's ok Liss, I saved the best part for you... the pictures, heh! I'll put a link on mine, "For more pictures... click here," and direct it to yours and you can do the same but, "For story...!" I guess it's 'cause I didn't get to sign the log before I left this time... it's withdrawl.

I still think we need to start, "CrazyJake.Com."

**Matt, I'll send 'em to you if you promise not to put them up 'til Liss gets hers up... deal? I'd hate to be responsible for Liss' trip to Kanata to kick your butt.

Hey Kim,

I didn't intend to steal the pics and make my own blog. I'll let Liss do that, she's got a camp blog now.

You must be busy these days, no entries in awhile.

Hey Matt, I know you didn't... you know I still love you.

It's been extremely busy actually. Put in some extra overtime last night and Scott and I are off to the camp this weekend. New schedule's not condusive to my blog schedule.

Me thinks I'll be dropping my blog actually. Too many bugs still. I had an entry done up a couple of days ago, hit publish and it disappeared in to cyberspace. That was the last straw. I barely have time to do one entry, let alone do one entry twice.

Blasted blogs.

Kim,

Sorry to hear you’re having so much trouble with it. I don't understand because everything works great for me. Next time, don't write it in the blog, do it on a word document and when it's completed just copy and paste. I do that all the time; guess it's just a habit. Defiantly saves you a lot of grief.

Later,
Matt

PS. So what’s the deal with you and Scott, spending a lot of time together lately?

Still not writing, MAN... you and Scott must be busy. Oh, I mean WORK.. work must be busy. What's the deal?

Hey Kim,

I always forget that some people write BACK in the comments section. My bad! I keep checking for updates, but it looks like your set in your way of trashing this site. Too bad, because out of all the blogs I read, yours was one of the ones I looked forward too.

I'm happy to hear you now have weekends, it's great. I remember changing schedules... wicked stuff.

I heard about your dog sitting, it's a great thing your doing, much appreciated. There is just no way we could have housed Jake if he came, just wouldn't be able to do it. I can’t wait for the family to visit… it’ll be SO MUCH FUN.

Karine and I are super happy with the way the house is coming along. It’s not like it was crappy to begin with. There was just some things we wanted to do is all and there still is. Watch out, my talents could turn evil.. .ha ha HA HA HA HA.. *Cough*

so, you asked for it… I’ll tell you. Log into you blog and go to the main setup page where you have the 4 tabs. Click on the second tab (Settings) and go all the way to the bottom. You’ll see a little button that says “Delete This Blog”. I really wish you would reconsider. But I can’t make you change your mind.

When it’s gone, I’ll remove your link from my blog.

Later,
Matt
